Homestudy Part II

Part II of our Homestudy process is now complete and we're quickly closing in on the part III, which will be Thursday! Part II basically was the dissection of a large binder filled with articles focusing on development, attachment, and adjustment. The information was insightful and interesting, emphasizing and "re-emphasizing" the risks and possible realities of adoption. So after completing the binder we now have all the skills we need to parent. Just kidding. Actually, tonight as we sat at the supper table, the complete opposite thought was on our mind. We are completely incapable sinners who could do a wonderful job of messing up our child. It was a humbling moment for both of us, but a good moment, because we needed to remind ourselves of our weakness and frailty but also of the power and might that is available through Christ. We have an amazing Father who has parented us perfectly and we trust that He, through the Holy Spirit, he will grant us the wisdom and help we need to parent. By God's grace we're his children, and by His grace we will bring home our child, parent our child, and point them to their true need; their true Heavenly Father! (Would someone please remind us of this in 5 years! God Willing)
