I don't think we've ever been so excited to have our fingerprints taken! Today we took an early morning trip to Charlotte, NC to make sure U.S. Immigration could have a beautiful portrait of each our fingers. We've been waiting for this appointment for about 3 months. The appointment is a small celebration for us, because upon our fingerprinting approval, we will receive the last document needed for our dossier. Our dossier is a very detailed profile of information about of us, that will be sent to Ethiopia, and ultimately will place us on an official waiting list for a child. We're hopeful that our dossier will be in the mail by the end of November! We're so thankful for Lord's perfect timing with each of the steps of the adoption process. It's beautiful to think, that even the day of a fingerprinting appointment could ultimately impact the child chosen for us! So amazing! The Lord is truly the Blessed Controller of all things!
Quintin and I organizing our dossier; preparing it for a hopefully soon departure!
Here's our dossier! It runs the entire length of our hallway! Months and months of paper work! It's what I call my "labor pains"!
On the way home from Charlotte while running a few errands, we ran across this precious ornament in shape of an acorn. It instantly made us think of Isaiah 61. We decided that as part of our small celebration we would buy our Little One their first ornament. It will be wonderful to see it hang from our Christmas tree, and serve as reminder to pray for our child. Isaiah 61:3 speaks of what Jesus and Jesus alone can do in our Little One's life - "...to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that HE MAY BE GLORIFIED...".
Rejoicing with you today! I love the sweet ornament and all that it symbolizes. Love you both!
